I often get asked my opinion on what a great “First Dance Song” at a Maui Wedding would be. All though there are many, many options available. I created this list from a few Maui Wedding Receptions that I have been a part of over the past year. These song choices are in no particular “At Last” by Etta James “Save Room” by John Legend “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra “You Got What I Need” by Joshua Radin “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon “Lets Get Lost” by Chet Baker “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love” by Barry White “Feel So Close To You Right Now” by Calvin Harris “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri “When You Got A Good Thing” by Lady Antebellum “That’s How Strong My Love Is” by Otis Redding “On A Night …

Grand Entrances I was talking with a Bride the other day prior to her Big Day and a topic that came up was having fun at the introduction of their bridal party. What were some of my favorite ideas? So I decided to put my ideas down into this blog about Wedding Reception Introductions. Every Bridal Party is going to have different personalities and the introductions should fit it. There was a time where everyone was doing the “Harlem Shake by Bauer.” It looked good for some, but for others it did not look so good. If you have a laid back personality, doing something CRAZY and OUTRAGEOUS does not look comfortable. If the Bridal Parties personality is BIG, then a traditional entrance may not fit as well. Red Lighting at any event can be very sexy and chic. There are many events recently that are popping up with Red Accents and Lighting – New York, Hollywood and Paris to name a few. These events are so eye catching. I mean, just look at the picture above, Wow..!! So I had this crazy idea on putting together a photo shoot with my LED Dance Floor, Red Up Lighting and Black & Red accent themes. I contacted a few friends of mine and I started to inquire about my crazy idea. I hit a lot of road blocks right off the start. At first, it was hard to get others to see my vision and even harder to find enough inventory on Maui. Second, I started to reach out to a few photographers I knew and …

I was asked a great question the other day and I wanted to share with everyone. I wanted to give you something to think about when you are thinking about Toasts. The question was, “Should we limit the amount of people who want to give a toast at the reception? What about the rehearsal dinner, should we limit the toasts as well?” So, I asked besides the bridal party and immediate family, who was going to be in attendance at the rehearsal dinner. There are many traditions to consider, as well as who, when and where. The Parents are going to want to say a little something because of the intimacy, The Grand Parents may chip in at this time as well. Of course the Bride and Groom are going to say a little something. Now at …

Aloha, http://youtu.be/JP8u_Ufue20 This news report hit the air waves on January 19, 2013. The report is about how companies hear the word wedding and automatically raise their prices by an average of 46% with regards to DJ Services. This report obviously is edited to make to favor the research, but with that being said, here is my reasoning to different prices from doing a 40th Birthday to doing a Wedding. In performing at a 40th Birthday Party, I usually have 2 to 3 meetings with the client and will perform a site visit prior to the event. On average the birthday party will consist of music, disco lights and a microphone to do a birthday announcement. The event consists of 3 hours of play time. Total planning is about 5 to 8 hours. In performing …
